Faces of Rescue was founded on May 3, 2013 by photographer David M. Brown and his best friend and rescue dog Shutter with one simple goal. To provide free high quality images to county shelters and rescue organizations throughout Ohio in order to aid in pet adoptions.

That same year David and Shutter introduced their “Pics 4 Paws” events. In association with local shelters and rescues the two travel around Ohio to the many adoption events taking donation based pet portraits for the general public with all proceeds benefiting the hosting shelter or rescue.

Since 2013 and as of this writing David and Shutter have:

  • Attended or hosted 227 Pics 4 Paws events.
  • Driven more than 50,000 miles.
  • Taken over 200,000 photos.
  • Photographed everything from dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, even a 10 foot Burmese Python!
  • Raised over $54,000 for local shelters and rescues.
  • Donated more than 500lbs of food and/or cleaning supplies.
  • Fostered or transported dozens of dogs.
  • And we are just getting started!

Here is a list of just some of the organizations Faces of Rescue has worked with:
